   Do you have /etc/sensors.conf installed? After s's step 4., there's 
one last question in the sensors-detect script asking for permission to 
install this file.  Say [Y].  Also it's not necessary to reboot, you 
can just restart rc.local. As root run '/etc/rc.d/rc.local'

   OTOH, (I didn't see any of the original posts in this thread), are 
you sure you have mobo support for hardware monitoring?  Not all 
motherboards do. The sensors-detect script will tell you if you do or 
not. Also are you sure you have both lm-sensors rpms installed and that 
the versions match?   eg,
lm_sensors-2.6.4-4mdk
liblm_sensors1-2.6.4-4mdk
