Hey All,
Just spent the past week trying to configure my soundcard with no
success. It's a SiS 7012 pci card in a laptop and I've tried getting it
to work with the OSS i810_audio module, SiS's own release from their web
site (caused a kernel panic)and alsa 0.9. All to no avail. I can
insmod the i810_audio module fine, as you can see below from an extract
of /var/log/messages but cat'ing all kinds of .au .wav and other files
to /dev/dsp gives me nothing. I've checked the mixer levels and gmix
loads fine and allows me to change the main volume and cd-volume but I
can't read anything else.
I have read Civileme's comments on this card and I've checked all kinds
of stuff on the net but nothing seems to work which is why I'm asking
here. Any advice gratefully received, I'm currently running Mandrake
8.2.
Regards
Dom Savage
