VNC would definitly be one choice... You could then have an ICON that lauches it and gives them a new window with a remoted destop from the other computer. 2nd choice would be something like AFS. Too much to tell to explain it in one e-mail (I'm only just learning it myself) But with it what you have is a "mobile" set of partitions and you can then have apps follow user. So wherever they sit down the same home the same set of apps follows. This one may be way too much for what you need but you can find our more at www.openafs.org.
