Whats the official way of enabling DMA for harddisk/dvd/writers at boottime? using ide0=dma and ide1=dma just doesn't work (worked in 8.2). I have to use hdparm -d1 /dev/hdx for each drive to actually turn it. Why is it not turned on by default?
