hello, i'm using a 28k modem (with kppp) and i'm using a proxy server (squid) to share the internet (please do not suggest NAT or DHCP because the proxy was much easier to set up! :-).
the problem is that squid requires the IPs of the NDS servers from /etc/resolv.conf. i have many isps so the only way that squid can find out the IP of the dns server of the current isp is for it to be started as soon as my internet connection comes up via kppp. is there a way to do this (start squid after i've connected to the internet) via adding a line to a script (e.g. service squid start) or something? thanks in advance, pesarif
