Anyone wanna see if this still exists in upcoming 9.1?

I had set my laptop's system clock off by 12 hours (AM vs PM). When i
noticed it, I issued a date command to correct it; but forgot to issue "
hwclock -w"... Tonight, the power plug fell out and when I noticed it,
the system had already reported:
Mar 4 22:54:14 gypsy apmd[1192]: User Standby
Mar 4 10:54:08 gypsy apmd[1192]: Standby Resume (54% 1:38) Battery power

Note how the time got reset! WHY is apmd messing with the time?

Worse... when this happens, ALL mouse dragging functions stop working --
can't scroll, can't resize windows, etc. In the past, I'd tried
restarting X to no avail... only a reboot appeared to fix the mouse's
dragging. This time, I simply reset the correct time and wrote it to the
h/w clock and mouse dragging is OK again...

Weird!!
