Praedor. Do a search for laptop on Freshmeat. There are a number of "sync" tools specifically designed for this. I don't think any of them are in contribs but there is always the source route. As for syncing my laptop. I use gftp. It skips what's the same and transfers the rest (I only sync one way... and only data.) So I don't use / need any of them. But they are there.. James
