Olaf, I'm reminded of a story from a friend of mine. Had a HDD overheat. Couldn't read it. Stuck it in the freezer overnight. And then it would work for about 30 minutes. Stick it back in the freezer... read off more data. About 5 or 6 cycles of this were needed before they could get all the data off of it, and then trash it. (Why I like seagates new drives they run super cool.) James
