I used the 2.4.21-0.13 and mow 2.4.21-0.18mm and with both kernels I have no problem with using my IDE-DVD with ide-scsi as for watching DVDs... The only thing I did was linking the scsi-device to /dev/dvd "ln -s /dev/scsi/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/cd /dev/dvd" Do you use supermount for that drive? With 2.4.19 I had (As many others too.) big problems with supermount...it lost "contact" to a mounted drive after a few minutes. So you possibly should update to a 2.4.21.
