Much of the problem is that if it is noticed that too many users do textinstalls, they'll probably be removed.
And somewhere down the line, one of those advertising dweeps is going to go like this, "Well, all those boot messages are sooo not cool, let's dump them in favour of dipers commercials, oh, and this syslog thingie has got to go too, it is diverting attention form our ads.
