Hi, I must have some sort of a code piece somewhere which will do face detection, I'll post it when I have a little bit of time. Unfortunately at the time there was no way region tagging photos in F-Spot, so you won't be able to see it in the UI anyway.
Let me look for it in the next days and I will get back to this ML.
