Chuck, Stu never ran a Kawi or an AMW. He had a Chaparral in an early Red Devil and was only competing in Solo.
Just before the introduction of the Rotax, Q with Stu's assistance, figured out how to tune the AMW to last a race. That doesn't mean QRE liked running them, just that QRE could make them last a race. The Rotax was always a better upgrade option then the AMW. Had AMW got with the program and adhered to the SCCA notification requirements on running changes, made those changes quicker, and had better quality control for those changes, perhaps just perhaps, the AMW would still be around today.... then maybe not :-). I heard that phrase first from Stu Kessenbaum(sp?). ,who I believe used to run out of Quadrinini's shop. So he probably had a sharp running Kaw to compare it to.
