The piston in my spring setup is pointed. I think that this is a problem,
the reason being that my puck compresses very easily the first 1/2 to 3/4
inch and then appear to be bottomed out. I've got a 40 durometer puck in
there, so I can't imagine it is too hard. I've experimented with harder
durometer pucks and they did nothing to improve the range of motion. I'm
thinking that a flat or gently rounded piston face would offer more range of
motion and some better spring effect. So, my question is: what shape are
these pistons usually? Are they generally pointed, flat, rounded on the
face? Do any others experience the same very limited motion in their
springs? Has anyone else experimented with different shape pistons?
