Chris,

I am not sure what the vintage of the GCR you are looking at.  I don't find
anything about driver safety gear in section 9.

I my 2006 GCR, the driver safety section starts at 17.23  (page GCR - 90)

My advice is to go with a one piece as recommended.  Also unless you enjoy
putting on underwear, go with a suit that has the  SFI 3-2A/5 or higher
rating.  Flame proof underwear not required, but recommend.  I have yet to
see one of these cars go up in flames, so I just go with the three layer and
skip the underwear.

One more thing, I don't know how old your are, but when I bought my suit, I
told the sales person that I thought it was to large.  Go with the one that
seems to large. Seems that I have grown into mine.
