Chris, I am not sure what the vintage of the GCR you are looking at. I don't find anything about driver safety gear in section 9.
I my 2006 GCR, the driver safety section starts at 17.23 (page GCR - 90) My advice is to go with a one piece as recommended. Also unless you enjoy putting on underwear, go with a suit that has the SFI 3-2A/5 or higher rating. Flame proof underwear not required, but recommend. I have yet to see one of these cars go up in flames, so I just go with the three layer and skip the underwear. One more thing, I don't know how old your are, but when I bought my suit, I told the sales person that I thought it was to large. Go with the one that seems to large. Seems that I have grown into mine. Aside from the requirements listed in the GCR > section 9.3.19, is there anything I should look for in a drivers suit, > and related equipment?
