Slava,

A few days ago some of us discovered that springies runs unusually slowly on
OS X and Windows but it runs fine on Linux. This demo demonstrates the
behaviour:

        "springies.models.ball" run

I was fairly certain that this demo used to run correctly on all three
platforms. So, I went through the OS X binaries available on the factorcode
site and narrowed down the bug's introduction to between these versions:

        factor-macosx-x86-32-2008-05-18-22-45.dmg
        factor-macosx-x86-32-2008-05-19-19-18.dmg

I.e. it works correctly in 05-18 but is slow in 05-19.

I'll try to do some deeper analysis to see what caused the regression. If the
behaviour isn't due to a change in springies code and I'm not using the ui
toolkit improperly, I'd consider this a bug since the demo should work across
platforms.

I haven't tested the Windows binaries from the same period but if someone
would like to, that would be cool.

Ed
