Hi Jörg,

I've just always used Postgres instead of Mysql.  There are tons of comparisons 
between the two, but it used to be that Postgres was more correct and had more 
SQL features.  Also, I don't like the GPL, but I believe there are no license 
conflicts with supporting Mysql if you want.

I'd welcome a Mysql library.  Let me know if you have any questions about 
writing it.
