The 'edit' word takes a 'defspec' which is shorthand for definition specifier. An example of a definition specifier is a word. For example, entering the following at the listener will open the definition of the 'append' word in Factor's standard library: \ append edit The first time you do this in a session, you'll get promoted with a list of restarts where you can pick an editor to load.
