Hello, members of factor-talk! To avoid wasting time of non-russian-speaking readers of this list, I warn that this email is only of interest to those who can speak and write Russian.
I'm an editor of the Russian journal "Practice of Functional Programming" http://fprog.ru , which you probably already have heard of. Short: We're looking for someone who'd be happy to write an article on Factor to our journal. We're peer-reviewed; we've published already 6 issues over 2 years; we've already got quite a stable and favourable reputation; we have a stable and smart audience of >10,000 people in Russia, Ukraine etc; we also publish in printed form (hundreds of people buy the printed versions), we take all the burden of layout, editing and correcting, we have strong reviewers. So it's a chance to spread your word quite widely and to get a lot of interesting feedback. Long: Our goal is to raise awareness and increase "pluralism of opinions" about non-mainstream (not necessarily functional) approaches to programming in the Russian internet. Concatenative languages have not yet been addressed at all, which is a sorry situation, given they're certainly a very major direction with its own set of unique ideas. Factor seems to be the most advanced, developed and practical concatenative languages in existence, so an article about it will probably have the most impact in terms of the number of enlightened people after its publication :) O reader of this email! (Dare I perhaps ask, Slava?) If you're capable of writing such an introductory article and eager to push forth the awareness of Factor, please contact [email protected] ! -- Eugene Kirpichov Senior Software Engineer, Grid Dynamics http://www.griddynamics.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Special Offer-- Download ArcSight Logger for FREE (a $49 USD value)!
