Hi Steve,

This may or may not be related to your particular problem, but it's
worth a shot. Just this morning I had problems getting the same
(current) development release to work under Kubuntu 11.04. The first
thing I tried was double-clicking the Factor executable file from my
file manager. Nothing. However, when I tried running it from a
terminal window, I now saw a message complaining about a missing
library. I can't remember the specific library and there's a good
chance it would be different for your environment, anyways. Anyhow, I
searched in the package manager (use Synaptic for Ubuntu) for
something close to the missing library name and installed both the
regular and the -dev versions of the closest match I could find.
Viola! YMMV.
