I think you are right, `1when` seems like the way to go.

Will you add it to the standard library?

It seems more like something for ``when`` and ``unless`` than for ``if`` since the balancing quotation can be first or second.

 

[ drop ] [ . ] if -> [ . ] 1unless

[ + . ] [ 2drop ] if ->   [ + . ] 2when

Maybe that works?
