Thanks for reporting. The latest version packaged in Ubuntu at the moment is fai 3.4.8ubuntu5. The ubuntu-part of the version number says that this package has some Ubuntu-specific patches, which unfortunately means that any newer release from Debian will need to be manually merged by someone.
