From the nightly log rotation /etc/logrotate.d/fail2ban
/var/log/fail2ban.log {
missingok
notifempty
postrotate
/usr/bin/fail2ban-client flushlogs >/dev/null || true
endscript
}
I think you would run:
fail2ban-client flushlogs
