fail2ban 0.9.6-2 is the packaged version in Debian stretch but Ubuntu 18.04
LTS (based on Debian buster/sid) has fail2ban 0.10.2, which has a number of
improvements (see https://github.com/fail2ban/fail2ban/blob/0.10/ChangeLog).
The information on Sourceforge is out of date, fail2ban files are now
hosted on github, reached via https://www.fail2ban.org/.
