I have sometimes heard the pull to nirvana to be called the pull to
death. The more you disconnect from the physical body the easier you
have in experiencing nirvana and celestial spheres.

Bliss is also cosmic heroin. Once tasting it and you are addicted to
it. At least that happened to me.
But the experience of bliss HAS something to do with consciousness,
and actually a lot.

What you make of your addiction to bliss, highly depends on your
consciousness or level of awareness. Here you have more options than
in drug addiction.

If you can appreciate only bliss and you think you are already
perfect and the problems you perceive are outside, the outcome can be
something like MMY and TMO. It seems to represent a conglomerate of
people, who have a lot of dysfunctions, the perception of which they
medicate away by their bliss experiences and by living in dream
realities.

For me bliss is not just an outward movement. It is also a vehicle to
dive into subtler levels of subjective experience in the relative. It
is the defence mechanisms against pain and discomfort, both mental
and physical, that keeps the door to more subtle levels of subjective
relative experiences and sensations closed. With these I mean
uncomfortable or painful subtle emotions or proto-emotions, or being
capable of sensing tensions and possible dysfunctions in the physical
body. Simultaneous experiencing of bliss and these less comfortable
sensations, that people normally are not at all aware of in
themselves, creates a powerful motor for subtle inner healing and
transformation. When inner discomfort and pain gets diffused with
bliss, well, then it is not pain anymore. When you do this repeatedly
to certain kind of sensation of discomfort, your experience of it
changes permanently. Then usually also healing has happened.
This is slow learning. Gradually you learn to handle more and more.
But it needs a lot of attention. There is little space for power
trips. The gift is improving health and deep inner satisfaction and
inner aliveness. An other big gift is that bliss flows and
tranformative inner work gets done while yoy are busily active in the
world. It is not an distraction anymore.
