Historic Teacher Recertification Course in Maharishi Vedic City By Patricia Boland Over 300 Governors of the Age of Enlightenment gathered at Maharishi Vedic City beginning the week of April 4 to complete one of the inaugural recertification courses being held around the world and now required for full-time teachers of the Transcendental Meditation program. The goal of the course is to establish Maharishi's Movement for the Transcendental Meditation program on the most dignified and stable basis, so that it may be perpetuated in its purity and effectiveness for generations to come. As this issue of The Review goes to press, a teacher training course was being organized for Citizen Sidhas to commence on April 24. Up-to-date details are available at http://www.vedicamerica.net As part of the restructuring and regeneration of the Transcendental Meditation program Movement, the teachers recertified in this course will help organize the resources needed for the 2,400 World Peace Palaces planned for the United States. The goal of teacher recertification is to make available full-time, well-paid professionals who also have time every day for extended morning and evening practice of the Transcendental Meditation and TM-Sidhi programs. Approximately 100 of the course participants are University faculty and staff. It was an opportunity for them to understand the role the University will play in this revitalization and to reconnect with their role as teachers of the Transcendental Meditation technique. "Mostly they were excited about having Maharishi's daily attention on the course and doing whatever is in the foreground of the Movement," said Pat Robinson, associate dean of Admissions. "All the Governors who work full time for the University were encouraged to go." Maharishi has recently explained that we have been teaching Transcendental Meditation for 50 years, and that now is the time to present to the world efficiently trained experts to smooth the progress of evolution so that every aspect of the daily life of everyone, singly and collectively, nationally and socially, is in accord with Natural Law. He has also described this time as a new chapter that is going to turn around the destiny of mankind from all acts of human errors and human weaknesses to alignment of all thought and action in accord with Total Natural Law. The speedy establishment of Maharishi Peace Palaces, along with the renaissance of the Transcendental Meditation program Movement, aims to ensure that in future there will be a revitalized and effective system of teaching. In a press conference Maharishi said that this revitalization of teaching will lead to Sat Yuga, an era of peace and harmony. He further explained that the onset of Sat Yuga will, in one stroke, clear all the points of darkness, points of negativity of life on earth. He said that this is the time to ring the bell of "Eureka" for the good fortune of everyone.
