Many yogis and Indians in general squat to poop, rather than sitting. Never heard of squatting to pee. If it's for Brahmacharya, maybe it's so you don't have to touch yourself. The book "Brahmacharya for Boys and Girls," which most good Purusha read at some point, also advises against riding bicycles (too stimulating in that area) and against looking at yourself in the shower. Maybe someone should market an opaque plastic tutu for aspiring celibates.
