I basically agree with most of that, altho I would say that having the entire world aware of what goes on in your marriage constitutes a bit more than the average "difficulties." :) My guess is they had some arrangement by which Bill could pretty much do whatever he wanted as long as nobody else found out.

You're right, though, that H's being able to hold it together says a lot, but I never have been able to relate to her very well in other ways. I sense too much stress or subtle anger there, and it puts me off every time. That and her many Iraq votes. I wonder, if she is so tough, why she didn't have the guts to vote her conscience?
