CARR, PAUL, 58 - of Northfield, died suddenly and un-expectedly while
on duty serving with the Atlantic City Fire Department.

He was born in Atlantic City in 1947 and graduated Atlantic City High
School in 1965.

Paul worked on the Atlantic City Beach Patrol from 1967 to 1973 and
was a champion rower and swimmer. He then went on to proudly serve
with the Atlantic City Fire Department in 1973 to present. In the 70's
he owned and operated Artman's Health Foods. Throughout Paul's young
and adult life he risked his own personal safety on many occasions to
save others and was awarded many citations. Paul was a true hero. Paul
was a premier athlete who ran, rowed, swam, boxed, weight lifted,
played basketball and was never beaten in arm wrestling. Paul was also
a gentle soul, loved by everyone. His cross section of friends ranged
from the guy on the street to the head of corporations and of course
his firefighter, police and lifeguard buddies. Paul was a spiritual
family man who helped everyone and believed in and taught
transcendental meditation. He spent time with the Maharishi Mahesh
Yogi. Paul loved researching and telling the history of Atlantic City.

He is predeceased by his parents, "Millie" and Albert, his sister
Carole and brother in law, Bill Lehto. Paul is survived by his loving
wife, Deborah and his sons, Paul and Christopher whom he loved and
adored. His other relatives are William and Jennie Frangipani, Bernita
and George Rohania, his niece, Jennifer and husband Jimmy, great
niece, Jane, and will be sadly missed by many loving friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 4, at 12:00 pm
at Our Lady of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church, Wabash and Poplar
Avenues, Linwood. Relatives and friends may call on Friday from 5 pm
to 9 pm at the Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Road, Northfield
and a public viewing on Saturday, from 10am to 12pm at Our Lady of
Sorrows Roman Catholic Church.
