I think it might have been Chogyam Trungpa who called our present 
waking state "madness" or something to that effect. 

I am thankful Maharishi made the idea/technique of transcenence to 
accessible. I suspect he is presently making it inaccessible simply 
to get some of the old teachers off their duffs. They don't have to 
teach under the kooky banner of the TMO, but teaching others to 
transcend is important. Avoiding all of the lunacy of the TMO is 
important, as well.
