Apparently one of the richest men in India was Mr. Birla and
he did not chant OM; he used the TM bija mantra of Saraswati,
the Goddess of Wealth. From what I have read, there are many
more millionaires who follow the teachings of Sri Sri Ravi
Shankar, who agrees with Marshy, that the use of OM is not
to be undertaken, since Om is not a bija mantra. The mystic
syllable OM is the *symbol* for the pranava, but it is not
the pranava itself. If Om was to be used in meditation, then
I guess Patanjali would have mentioned it. In fact, if a
person chants Om they may go broke and wind up penniless,
just like the majority of people who live in India today.

My mantra starts with OM but also has a bija mantra in it.
