Neither is incorrect, but I think MMY's is more relevant to householders. Every time you practice TM or TM-Sidhis, you are practicing renunciation of desire even though inherent in practicing the Sidhis is the desire for them to be fulfilled. If TM and normal activity are like dying the blanket gold and letting it sit in the sun, TM- Sidhis is like dying the blanket and letting it sit under a multiple-frequency UV lamp for a while. > > - In FairfieldLife@yahoogroups.com, cardemaister <no_reply@> wrote: > > > > --- In FairfieldLife@yahoogroups.com, "amarnath" <anatol_zinc@> > wrote: > > > > > > > > > "As one's mind becomes more and more subtle, one will > > > find that renunciation of desires is the only way to > > > get rid of all sorrow and suffering." ~ Amma > > > > > > this obviously is in line with the abc's of Buddha's teachings > > > and not with MMY's statement : > > > "It's not the desires that are the problem, > > > it's the inability to fulfill the desires." > > > > > > and bingo, the introduction of "Siddhis" > > > > > > > Hmmm... *puruSaartha-shuunyaanaaM* guNaanaaM pratiprasavaH > > kaivalyaM(,)svaruupa-pratiSThaa vaa citi-shakteH (citi-shakter iti). > > >
