That's just what I do. My only real talent is as
a wordsmith. It pays for a fine living for me as
a technical writer, and it provides endless amuse-
ment for me in my life outside work.

My favorite writer in many ways isn't a writer at
all. He's a singer/songwriter named Bruce Cockburn.
Bruce is a Christian, one of the good ones. His
life is without question a spiritual path, and thus
his songs are about the spiritual path. But IMO he
found a way to do this, to share stories from the
spiritual path, in a non-preachy way that is univer-
sal, and that appeals to me as a Buddhist as much as
it might appeal to fellow Christians. He just writes
about his life. He says that his songs are just foot-
prints of a life. People are free to react to them
any way they want.

That's all Road Trip Mind is. A set of footprints,
a non-fiction book written by a fictional author.
If it has any value at all, it is in inspiring a few
people to leave footprints of their own.
