This, in and of itself, is very telling. It certainly would mean he was not any real master of the tantric mantra paths (Hindu or Buddhist). A mantra master who is renunciate certainly would have great familiarity with inner tantric sexuality, which runs quite deep in both traditions. I know a number of legitimately renunciate tantric masters who householders went to for excellent advice, despite the fact the teacher never had been sexual. Because they had mastered the inner sexuality, they could comment freely and insightfully--and most interestingly, without any prudishness at all--on the frank realities involved.
