******** All students are required to learn the TM technique and to attend group meditation sessions. However, naturally, since many students from poor countries are primarily interested in getting a university education/job, probably many foreign students do not practice TM. I used to do TM at the center on campus with other students, where attendance was taken. Chinese students, in particular, did not meditate, and some would even listen to radios with earphones, or just sleep. In an effort to get active TMers to attend the school, instead of just kids who are willing to learn TM with no intention of actually doing it, the university requires Nepalis & Ethiopians to practice TM for some time in their home countries before they can attend MUM: http://www.mum.edu/compro/steps.html (end of page)
