Filling up the gas tank is quite the micro-economic experience. I
filled up the other day for $23.00 (Toyota Corolla) when, at its
peak, it was costing me around $46.00.

I refer to this as a micro-economic experience because that $23.00
difference meant, acccording to my economic habits, that I would go
to one additional restaurant that week. Mulitiply that experience by
about 200 million Americans -- or whatever the number that owns cars -
- and we can see how the price of gas REALLY affects the economy.
