I liked both. I wasn't sure about Watchmen running at almost three hours but it went by pretty fast and was very entertaining. I like these sort of conspiracy intrigue movies especially treated in a graphic novel way sort of like a very dark comedy. I've been listening to Alex Jones rants about the movie being pure "Illuminati" evil and think he must have watched the movie standing on his head (quite an accomplishment) because he has it upside down. But that group over there thinks that "1984" and "Brave New World" were written to promote those kind of societies rather than warning against them. If they were truly written for that then the authors failed miserably because it produced the opposite effect. But there is nothing much left over on that forum other than die hard libertarian hypocrites that decry elitist conspiracies like Bilderberg group but don't want their right to become billionaires themselves (dream on) and screw the public to be diminished. These are a bunch who think that digital TV is a mind control conspiracy and keep talking as if digital TV will be turned on June 12th when actually analog TV gets turned off. They really don't like to hear that in some areas digital TV has been broadcast for almost a decade. Kind of blows their theory. But if you want to have some fun go joint the forum on http://forum.prisonplanet.com/ and play with their heads.
"Synecdoche" is a Charlie Kaufman movie ("Adaptation") and his first directing effort. It now available on DVD and Blu-Ray. It is quite something and stars Phillip Seymour Hoffman as a theater director who struggles with a play he is trying to produce. Very trippy just like "Adaptation" and well worth a watch. What a project that was to produce. This was definitely one of the better movies from last year that didn't get much play in the press. Wonder why? Well probably WAY to weird for Joe and Jane Public. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0383028/
