The Œ69 course visited some Swami nearby Rishikesh going in buses and when there everyone, at MMY‚s instructions, gave him some rupees. I have no idea who this was as instead of travelling with them by bus, train and taxi to Srinagar I took a taxi with ym friend Mike Rice (also from South Africa) to Delhi, spent the night in a comfortable hotel, had a wonderful massage and then flew there. I had learned in ‚62 when I travelled to Hoch Gurgl from England with meditators never to travel with them as they were hopeless.Also MMY seemed to inspire suffering around him. As it turns out I believe the trip was exhausting. Eileeen Forrestall told me she sat in the back of the bus and was bounced like a ping pong ball and got so covered with the dust that people in the front could hardly see her.. Then in the train the window wouldn‚t shut and she got covered in soot. Taxis broke down going up the pass to Srinagar. Unfortunately for the group my intuition was right. I never heard of a visit to Swami Shantananda.
