Probably all of the above. The timing of the release of
the hacked emails was excellent for the denier camp,
coming right before Copenhagen, but there would have been
an increase around this time in the number of articles
both pro and con even without the emails.

Also in the U.S., Congress is working on a cap-and-trade
plan, which also raises the AGW issue. So there are
several different factors involved in bringing it to the
fore.
