It's precisely because I know that the corporations don't give a shit about me that I feel comfortable with the ruling. I know where they stand (the bottom line) and that's why I take what they say with a grain of salt. But I also know that politicians don't give a shit about me, either. But they're the ones who claim that they DO give a shit about me. And that's why I am more worried about the latter and not the former. > ShempMcGurk wrote: > > Actually, Freedom of Speech has been expanded and enhanced. > > > > If corporate spending actually dictated human behavior to the extent that > > Olbermann would have us believe then I would be buying exactly what > > corporations would want me to buy as a result of the spending of money on > > advertising by corporations. > > > > Sure, advertising can make me TRY a product or service but unless the > > product or service gives me value, I won't continue to consume it. > > > > We all take whatever corporations say in their advertising with a grain of > > salt; the same thing occurs when I hear a politician (even more so). > > > > Let corporations, unions, and anyone else spend their hearts out if they > > think they've got a message to tell us. > > > > And what about "buying" off politicians?
