I first spotted Rachelle Lefevre in her standout performance in the
movie "Casino Jack". I see she has a regular role on the TV series "A
Gifted Man" but I find broadcast TV so watered down I seldom watch it
anymore. She has the lead role in the horror film "The Caller".
Originally Brittany Murphy was cast for this movie but died just before
it started filming. Lefevre was literally a last moment replacement.
The movie is an above average horror thriller and does a good job of
keeping you on edge. On hand too is Stephen Moyer ("True Blood"), Luis
Guzman and Ed Quinn ("Eureka"). It's a film about a divorce who moves
into an apartment and is plagued by calls from a mysterious woman
caller. I would give it a high recommendation but there was something a
little uneven about this film. Maybe it was because of a rushed
production schedule.
Anyhoo, I watched it on DVD from Netflix (no Bluray available) and it
can be rented from Redbox or watched on Vudu.com.
