So glad you liked it. I agree. Whatever his shortcomings as a person, I agree with Roger Ebert that Woody is an American national treasure. He has had what almost no other filmmaker since Chaplin has had, the total freedom to make his movies the way he wants to make them. It shows, both in the good ones and the less-good ones. I for one am happy he seems to be back on the track of the good ones.
