Not quite.The surface goal of the siddhi IS relevant to 
accomplishment of the siddhi. YOu don't get the full benefit of any 
particular sidhis practice without having been exposed to the 
expected outcome of that particular sidhi.

Expectation IS part of sidhis practice.
