Well, here's the real inside story. Robertson is a great fan of Chavez's, and had been moved by his deep compassion for his people by pursuing strong and comprehensive social spending and social reforms to break down entrenched class structures which vastly restrict opportunities for 90% of his people and economic reforms to address a 20% unemployment rate and poverty levels over 50%. He sees Chavez embodying deep christian values. Thus when Robertson got word that the Bush administration was considering assassination of Chavez because he will not sign long term agreements with oil companies that essentially give away much of the countries oil wealth, like Brazil has done, Robertson used his crazy wisdom schtick to innnoculate Chavez from assassination by drawing attention to its possibility. He doesn't mind playing the fool to save a christian brother. Now if Chavez were assassinated, or his plane unexpectedly went down in the mountains -- as happened to seveal central american leaders in the 90's -- there would be an intense foucus on the, and loud cries of, "CIA!". The Bush administration won't proceed with any assassination plans in such an environment. Opps, sorry, thats happening in string-theory predicted parallel universe, not here. ------------------------ Yahoo! Groups Sponsor --------------------~--> Get fast access to your favorite Yahoo!
