I'm always fascinated that some people seem to think thoughts
must consist of words. Most of my thoughts are nonverbal. 
They get put into words only if I entertain the possibility
of communicating them to somebody else.

I suppose a thought could be *defined* as verbal mental
activity, but at least for me, there's a huge amount of mental
activity that is entirely wordless. It seems peculiar to me 
not to consider that mental activity to be thought.
