In 1972 when I was playing in a jazz trio at a Doubletree Inn they were serving "red beer". I made a joke and ordered "green beer". The bartender thought for a moment and put in the lime flavoring they used for some drinks. Worked great and they added it to the bar menu. There's Roses lime syrup and probably a few other lime flavorings you could use instead of green coloring. Who knows what that is made of.
