at one time there was info easily available that showed MUM and its campus was
owned by the Marshy Group - most of that info, even info about the marshy group
has since disappeared from the internet

So, who says 'Girish and his cousins' own the MUM campus and all it's assets?

belongs to the SRM Foundation USA and it's Board of Directors.
Apparently Girish is not involved in any  way with MUM or it's
      managing it's assets.

However, the Indian tradition of reciting Vedic prayers is very
old, dating from at least 1500 BCE, so it wouldn't surprise me if
it caught on here and persisted for a long time.

Yoga has been popular in the U.S. since the 1940's and more so
today. Take a look at the magazine covers at Barnes & Noble if
      you get a chance. LoL!
