GB and Tony Blair made a pact that TB would be PM as he was more media
friendly and then GB would take over. TB secretly thought GB was a bit hopeless
and went back on the deal fearing that Labour would lose the second election.
This pissed of GB and he started scheming and plotting to get rid of TB.

He needn't have bothered as TB forming a military alliance with GWB was more
than we hardcore lefties could take and we weren't happy to be vindicated that
it was a bad move after the slaughter in Iraq. That was really the end of TB
and he stepped down after winning a third term but with a much reduced majority.

And what did GB have to offer after 10 years of planning on the sideline?
Nothing, nothing at all. It was the biggest disappointment imaginable, he had
no far reaching plan, no great projects, he was so far out of his depth it was
actually painful to watch. Anyway, he called an early election and was booted
out, and is generally considered the worst prime minister ever. And we of the
left thought he was an heir to John Smith the excellent politician and Labour
leader who died too young, letting Blair take over.

And now we've got a bunch of vicious, multi-millionaire Eton educated toffs
who don't give a shit about anything except making their rich friends even
richer. They blame GB totally for our ruined economy but that was the only
thing that wasn't really his fault! In fact he did quite a good job repairing
the damage and the toffs know that if they were in power they would have given
the banks more freedom to rip us off making the crash even worse! That's the
way the world is all over I guess....

Thanks for finding that MJ, it does one good to be
reminded of just how deluded old Ozymandias - I mean Marshy
was. Will the world ever see his like
 again?
 "Maharishi
saw the words and actions of the new Government as an
expression of the changed quality of national consciousness
in Great Britain, which had quietly resulted from the
activities of his organisation to raise coherence in world
 consciousness in recent years."
 So it was
all that meditating that actually got Gordon Brown into
power, not the fact he was always going to take over from
Blair. True those early few days of the Brown regime were
indeed refreshing but the reality of his incompetence means
this would be possibly the least convincing demonstration of
global coherence that I've heard yet. Smart of the reesh
to jump on the bandwagon and claim it's all down to him
 though.
 "On hearing this and
other positive developments since the change of leadership
in Westminster, Maharishi proclaimed that he was completely
releasing his hold on the activities of his organisation in
Great Britain. Maharishi said that he was lifting all his
 reservations to make the country
 invincible."
Thanks Marshy, a few years of
Gordon Brown and then a coalition between the two worst
parties imaginable has really taught me the value of
invincibility as brought around by your megalomania - I mean
 movement.
