(Just trying to "cure" my "collective hang-over"
due to people hereabouts drinking very heavily these days
during week-ends. Sort of inverse ME, LOL!)

YS III 38
te samaadhaav upasargaa vyutthaane siddhayaH

Taimni's translation:

They are obstacles in the way of /samaadhi/ and
powers when the mind is outward-turned.

Those "gurus" who claim that practising saMyama
is counterproductive, should read very carefully
this commentary by Krishna Dvaipaayana:

te praatibhaadayaH samaahitacittasyotpadyamaanaa
upasargaas taddarshanapratyaniikatvaat |
vyutthitacittasyotpadyamaanaaH siddhayaH |

BTW, it's interesting that instead of "praatibhaadayaH"
Bhoja in his commentary has "praakpratipaaditaaH".

In general, Bhoja's commentary, which probably is much
later than Krishna Dvaipaayana's, seems slightly more
"negative" or "skeptical" as to the benefits of siddhis
practise.
