Based on two years of living there I agree Fairfield is a nice place to live -
harsh winters sometimes but nice the rest of the time - its even better if you
don't do TM.

The people I re-connected with from my time in MIU surprised me - some of them
have quit TM years ago but still live in Fairfield.  One of the MIU faculty
members Bryan Aubry no longer does TM but lives there in Fairfield - I told one
of his former students about him and the guy nearly fainted - couldn't believe
he didn't do TM anymore and still lived in Fairfield. Never knew him but from
what I heard from his students he was a very capable professor.

I second everything Buck and Share say in this thread. Fairfield is a wonderful
place to live and it seems to get better all the time. Maybe if Lawson does
move here we should have a little welcoming party.

Plus, Lawson, depending on where you live in FF, it's very walkable. And there
are lots of tree lined neighborhoods around the square to make even doing an
errand a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the out of doors. And we
have a great local health food store that features many nutritious, delicious
soups and salads and such that are made right here. Great Farmers Market on
Wednesday and Saturday. And...way less expensive than a lot of places that are
also into health and sustainability. If you visit on the first Friday of any
month, you'll also be able to enjoy Art Walk. I feel really fortunate to have
returned to FF. Expecially because I never expected to!

That is good. You'll like living here. It is a great
community to live in. A lot of spirituality going on here. Great
recreation and fabulous performing and fine and folks arts too. The
Domes to meditate in are one of the 7 wonders of the world. It is
just a matter of showing up for what interests you. Lectures,
presentations, workshops. Visiting spiritual people and saints.
Fairfield has become a fabulous music scene as a destination between
Chicago, Kansas City, Denver, the Twin Cities for top flight
performers between gigs. Lot of booking agents have discovered
Fairfield that way.
Most people living here get the Fairfield
Weekly Reader as it is published every Thursday and sit with their
calendars to map out their event week. You'll Be with a lot of
like-minded practiced spiritual people living in Fairfield. It is a
very nice place to Be.
