Nabs, I saw a similar documentary about sadhus in India. It's actually a very difficult life. They perform austerities and long fasts in order to be taken by their gurus as disciples. These austerities include living naked, smearing ash on their bodies and sleeping near cremation grounds. But they drink hard liquor and smoke bhong since these were supposedly used by Shiva, their patron god.
